Camp Barrels
Open to campers who have completed their Kindergarten year, Camp Barrels offers an experience like no other. Our program blends adventure, hands-on learning, and plenty of fun to create an unforgettable summer.
Each weekly themed camp is designed to keep children busy, active, curious, and excited. From engaging activities to memorable field trips, campers will explore, discover, and build new friendships all summer long.

Learning Adventures
This summer, campers will embark on exciting learning adventures! They’ll meet and greet our hometown heroes and explore different occupations. Along the way, campers will dive into arts and crafts, games, and a variety of hands-on activities that spark creativity, curiosity, and fun.
Life Skills
At Camp Barrels, your camper will develop important life skills that last a lifetime. They’ll practice communication, taking turns, making friends, and listening to counselors, adults, and guest speakers.
Campers will also learn essential safety skills, including water and road safety, while building responsibility, confidence, good sportsmanship, and the courage to try new things—all in a fun, supportive environment.
Supporting the Community
Camp Barrels provides THREE lunches each week from hometown restaurants!
Campers will have THREE bus field trips: Slinky Action Zone, Kamin Science Center and Discovery Space!
Campers will have walking trips to the Ebensburg Borough Pool each week based on the pool's schedule and weather permitting!
Campers will have at minimum, ONE walking field trip EACH WEEK! And daily walking field trips to places and parks around town!

Full Price rate for registering for all 11 weeks of camp AFTER March 31, 2026!
Cost: $2500
Interested in joining us weekly, cost is $275/week.

Uptown FUN
Get ready for some uptown FUN as we learn how our super cool Camp Barrels shirts are printed and more! Adventuring around the town seeing our unique statues, buildings, and map out our summer fun!

PA Game Commission Black Bear Week
New to our summer camp! A Black Bear Program! Campers will get to see a real black bear with our PA Game Commission! This interactive program will deepen the knowledge of the safety of animals and how to keep yourself safe in the woods!

Kamin Science Field Trip, Animal Skins & More
New to our summer camp! We have a Game Commissioner coming to continue our outdoor safety… showing us various skins and feathers, teaching us about rabies, and answering any questions your camper may have! Also, this week, campers loved the Carnegie Science Field Trip, now known as Kamin Science Center, so much that we are going back again this summer to Pittsburgh!!

Meet the Judge
New to our summer camp, we will get to meet a Judge! Judge Neugebauer will show us the ins and outs of our Cambria County Courthouse, along with attending trials, and more! Any questions about the law can be answered today!

CAMP Week
Campers will get to do just that- Camp! We will learn how to pitch a tent, explore Lake Rowena, and make some tasty smores!

Slinky Action Zone Field Trip
Another camper favorite… Slinky Action Zone bus trip! Complete with unlimited Laser Tag, Duckpin Bowling, Pizza, Popcorn, Soft Drinks, and Soft Play! All a short bus trip away to Altoona!

SFU Sports Week
Athletes from Saint Francis University will hang with our campers, mentor with a Q&A session, play games, do crafts, and more! Another camp favorite they look forward to each and every summer!!

SFU Nursing Week
New to our summer camp! Saint Francis University nursing week! On multiple days, campers will meet and learn from various nursing departments from SFU! This hands-on learning session will be full of all the amazing tools and techniques that nurses use from doctor’s offices to therapy offices to hospitals and more!

Discovery Space Field Trip
New to our summer camp! A bus trip to State College! Campers will surely have their curiosity sparked throughout this hands-on learning field trip! We cannot wait to hear about their favorite part!

Bird Box Week
Get those hammers moving with our PA Game Commissioner! Campers will build their own bird box and learn about how to protect birds, especially during harsh weather conditions! Using real hammers and nails, campers will take pride in their build and will not be able to wait to take their creation home to find the perfect spot for their bird box!

End of Summer Camp Celebration
Oh goodness each summer seems to go faster and faster! As we reflect on all the amazing memories we created with new friends we made, we will end our last week with campers choosing their favorite activities and having our final celebration party at Lake Rowena!
